Barrhead Burgh withdraw from National Finals

Kapitol Promotions has been informed by Tom Allan of the Barrhead Burgh Band that the band is regretfully withdrawing from the upcoming Sections 1-4 Finals 2019 at Cheltenham Racecourse. Barrhead Burgh qualified for the Finals by virtue of winning Section 4 at the Scottish Championships in March.

Kilmarnock Concert Brass were invited to take their place, as they placed third in Section 4 at the Scottish Championships this year (it's normal procedure to invite the next-placed band from the Regional event), but unfortunately Kilmarnock Concert Brass could not accept the invitation. Tracy Calderwood, Chairperson of Kilmarnock Concert Brass commented: "Thanks for the invite to perform at the National Brass Band Championships. Unfortunately, we have to say no due to the lack of time we would have to prepare".

Therefore, only one Scottish band (Newland Concert Brass) will be representing Scotland in the Section 4 Final of the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain 2019.
