Harrogate

With its Victorian architecture, wide streets, chic shopping parades and immaculately maintained green spaces, Harrogate presents a stylish and elegant place to visit.

Not only does this sophisticated town top the polls as a conference destination, it is also widely known as one of the most desirable places to live in Britain.

Central to the town's appeal is the spectacular Turkish Baths and Health Spa, magnificently restored to their former Victorian glory, with the addition of a suite of modern treatment rooms. The adjacent Royal Pump Room Museum explores Harrogate's interesting history as a spa town, and the beautiful Valley Gardens, plus the world-renowned Royal Horticultural Society Gardens at Harlow Carr, are nearby.

Alternatively, take a short car ride to the unspoilt and breathtaking countryside in the Yorkshire Dales, or visit Ripley Castle, Fountains Abbey, picturesque Kanresborough, the impressive Harewood House one of Britain's oldest cities - Ripon. Leeds and York, with their premium shopping and exciting social scenes, are also a stone’s throw away.

Harrogate enjoys good transport links from all over the UK; Leeds Bradford airport is just 30 miles away and the train station is a short walk from Harrogate International Centre.

Not surprisingly, Harrogate and its surrounding district are sought-after tourist locations and holiday destinations.

Music on the Move – The Official Tour Operator of the National Finals

Music on the Move Ltd. is the Official Tour Operator for the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain.

After this year's Regional Championships, Music on the Move will be offering complete travel solutions for bands qualifying for both the Lower and Championship Section Finals in Harrogate and London respectively.

Over the last few years, Music on the Move has worked with bands to offer a range of solutions from hotels only, to complete travel programmes, which included coaching, rehearsal rooms and group meals.

Helen Samuels, of Music on the Move, commented: “We are delighted to once again be endorsed as the chosen operator of the 'Finals'. Our knowledge and experience enable us to offer a professional and friendly service to bands travelling from across the UK, to stay in Harrogate and London. The Company works hard to provide excellent travel and accommodation solutions for competing bands.”

Philip Morris, a director of Kapitol Promotions Ltd., which presents the 'Nationals', was glowing in his appreciation of Music on the Move’s contribution to the two ‘Finals’ events, commenting: “Music on the Move is a trustworthy and experienced tour operator. The Company has a long-standing track record in organising sports and music tours, and has brought a high level of expertise to negotiating and handling accommodation on behalf of bands and supporters attending the National Finals.”

Harrogate ‘Finals’

This year, Music on the Move is offering competing bands travel and accommodation options, including coach travel, to a wide choice of hotels in Harrogate and the surrounding district.

As in previous years, Music on the Move will be hosting a party at the Holiday Inn, Harrogate, to give everyone the chance to relax with their families and friends, and to share their contest experiences.

Testimonials

South West Telecoms Band
“Having someone who knows the area arranging our coach and hotel was great. A lot of the hard work was taken away, allowing the band to focus on the test-piece.”

Lympstone Band, Devon
“A reliable and friendly company, which offers a stress free and economical travel and accommodation package.”

Track record

Music on the Move also specialises in the provision of music tours for all age groups. Helen Samuel elaborated: “Tours are a great opportunity for musicians to develop individually, are great team builders, and offer tremendous scope for travel and new cultural experiences. By allowing us to look after their travel arrangements, bands are free to focus on their performance and take in the local sights. Each group tour is very different and, as such, Music on the Move is happy to tailor itineraries. This may include excursions to theme parks, educational attractions, group dinners, etc.”
