ON CONTEST DAY

DRAW

The order of play will be decided by a Draw held in the Crest Room. Access to the Draw can be gained through the Hall of Fame Bandsman’s Entrance, via the North Car Park.

The Draw times are stated on Page 1 of this Schedule. Please note that only ONE representative per band will be allowed at the Draw. Band representatives are requested to be present five minutes before the Draw is scheduled to take place, and individual Delegate Cards will be issued at the Draw.

Please let the Section Controller know at the Draw if any of your band members need assistance on & off stage.

HIRE OF REHEARSAL ROOM

This year we are able to offer bands rehearsal facilities at Cheltenham Racecourse. Two rehearsal rooms (Cottage Rake and Mill House, situated close to the Winged Ox Bar) are available at £50.00 an hour.

If your band wishes to use one of these rehearsal rooms, please let us know as soon as possible. As there are only two rooms available, these rooms will be on a "first come-first served" basis. The full £50.00 payment is also required at time of booking to secure the room.

Each rehearsal room is secure, and during your hire period the room will be for your band's use only. 30 chairs and music stands will be provided, but unfortunately no percussion instruments will be available. However, there is good vehicle access to these rehearsal rooms, so your band is welcome to provide and use your own percussion instruments as required. (Please bear in mind that your equipment load-in & out will be part of the 1-hour time slot).

ARRIVAL & COACH PARKING

Coaches to arrive in the North Car Park and cars in the South Car Park, and then through the Hall of Fame entrance for band players. (Audience members through the Main Foyer). A Kapitol Promotions representative will guide your band to the changing area, and bands drawn 1 to 6 should proceed to their changing room (in the Gold Cup Room) immediately after the Draw has taken place.

WARM-UP ROOM & REGISTRATION

Prior to your performance, a Kapitol Promotions representative will escort your band to the Sovereign Room for a short warm-up period (music stands and balanced-action timpani will be provided). From there, you will be directed to the registration point. Bands are asked to vacate the dressing rooms as soon as they have played, taking their instruments and personal belongings with them.

STAGE

The Kapitol Promotions Stage Management Team and Ev-Entz Percussion Crew will set the stage for your band, using the Percussion & Seating Plans submitted at the Draw. Please take note of their instructions, as this will help with the efficient running of the event.

THE NATIONAL ANTHEM

The bands drawn number 1 in Section Two and Section Three will be required to play the National Anthem (No. 61 from "The Extended 120 Hymns for Brass Band").

STARTING TIMES

Please note that whilst the starting times for Section Two and Three are accurate, the times for Sections Four and One will follow the results and prize presentations, and bands drawn number 1 must be available to play immediately following these presentations. The estimated times are below:
