Taff Vale

History

Taff Vale Brass/Band Pres Taf was formed in November 2017 by a group of committed musicians. With our base in the Llandaff North area of Cardiff, our members come from a wide area stretching from Newport, Pontypridd and Bridgend to Cardiff Bay. We have a real mix of youth and experience, a combination that is proving to be highly successful. Many of the more experienced players are enjoying the opportunity they now have to develop young players in their community – the talent of tomorrow. With an emphasis on enjoyment, the diary is steadily filling up with competitions and concerts. It’s great to see the enthusiasm and passion of the members.

On our first contest outing in March 2018, we won the Welsh Regional Brass Band Competition (Section 3) at the Brangwyn Hall in Swansea. We then took part in the South East Wales Brass Band Association competition in Cardiff and managed to come first again. We recently competed in Section 3 at the Welsh National Eisteddfod and managed to win there as well – making it three in a row. The band are really looking forward to competing at the National Finals.
