Oxford Cherwell

History

Oxford Cherwell Brass were formed in April 2013, and are based in the village of Kidlington just outside of Oxford.  The band achieved 4th place at the 2014 3rd section area on their debut contesting performance.  In 2016, OCB won the 3rd section at the Oxford Association Entertainment Contest - its first victory - and were placed 2nd at the 2017 regionals to qualify for the National Finals for the first time.  Throughout the year, the band enjoys a variety of concerts supporting local and national charities, and in December will be the supporting brass band for the annual Alzheimer’s Society Christmas Concert which this year takes place in Christ Church Cathedral in Oxford.  The band is conducted by their experienced MD Terry Brotherhood who is a former principal cornet player with the famous Morris Motors Band.
