BD1

History

BD1 Brass was formed in Oct 2014 as part of the family of the City of Bradford Brass Band. The band competed for the first time in the Yorkshire Regionals in March 2015 and won the 4th section. They then came second in the National Finals in Cheltenham in September of the same year. The band were thrilled to come second in the 3rd section Yorkshire Regionals in March 2017 and are excited about their promotion to the 2nd section in January.

BD1 Brass is proud to have a mix of talented players, both young and not-so-young. Many of their principal seats are held by under 18s such as Phoebe Mallinson (flugelhorn), Daniel Clough (principal cornet) and Milly Lewis (trombone).

"Junior" band to City of Bradford, who have qualified for the RAH in 2017 for first time in their history. BD1 only one previous Nationals appearance (S4 2015), where they achieved an impressive 2nd place.
